The Notting Hill Carnival takes place in London, United Kingdom every year on the last bank holiday in August. The Caribbean carnival has been attracting millions of visitors since 1966 bringing West London to life. The atmosphere, carnival costumes, floats, music and Caribbean food make this carnival very popular.

The best way to get to the carnival is via public transport, parking restrictions and road closures will be in place during the event. Some tube stations (London Underground trains) will be closed, plan your journey before heading out. A few recommended stations to access the carnival, Latimer Road, Notting Hill Gate and Royal Oak.
The food at the Carnival is absolutely amazing and the streets are filled with the smells of Jerk Chicken, Rice & Peas and other Caribbean delights. Levi Roots (Musician and Reggae Reggae Sauce founder) started out selling his famous jerk barbecue sauce at the Notting Hill Carnival in 1991, in 2006 Levi Roots sold 4,000 bottles of his famous Reggae Reggae sauce and it’s now available in a number of supermarkets bringing the Caribbean flavours to home cooking. As the food is prepared on the street within the market stalls or from local residents front lawns, we would advise looking around before buying from the first stall you see.
Rest rooms/Porter Loos will be available throughout the festival and clearly sign posted. Local residents will also let you use their facilities for a fee. Permanent toilets are located @ Bevington Road – at the junction with Golborne Road W10 and Westbourne Grove –near the junction with Portobello Road. Police presence will be in force and if caught urinating in public you will be arrested and fined.
