So many people come over to Europe to spend time seeing the sights, but then end up getting a temp job in the City in London and joining the rat race instead. If this sounds familiar, don’t forget that while you’re living in London you have ready access to so much of Europe.
If you’re only over in the UK for a year or two, make the most of weekends and other trips to explore the continent while you’re here. You never know what direction life will take you, and once you go back home – whether that’s to the US, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa - you don’t want to feel that you didn’t make the most of your time in Europe while you had the chance.
With low cost airlines, there is an absolute abundance of cheap flights to different cities across Europe. You can make weekend trips to Prague, Paris, Budapest, Rome…etc. Many of these destinations are great to visit off season, with fewer tourists jostling for a view of the Mona Lisa, or to walk around the fabulous Colosseum in Rome.
As well as getting the most out of the culture that Europe has to offer, you might also want to make time for a break by the beach. The UK has some great beaches and beautiful coastline, but can’t always provide the great weather to go with them. But there are plenty of easy-to-reach holiday beach destinations that are only an hour or two’s flight away.
For example, holidays to Santa Ponsa in Majorca can be great for recharging your batteries. Majorca has a great climate, and is really geared up to providing everything that tourists are looking for in a beach break. Staying in Santa Ponsa, you’ll have ready access to waterparks, golf courses and activities like karting, but there are also beautiful beaches to just take it easy on. As for the evenings, Santa Ponsa has its own nightlife, or you’re just 5 km away from Majorca’s clubbing hotspot Magaluf.
Europe has so many great things to offer anyone on a long stay in the UK – get out and explore and discover this great continent.
