When I first arrived in Prague to live and work , I jumped around different hostels and hotels to get a feeling for the city and the different areas. It wasn’t until after I had leased an apartment that I discovered Mosaic House, and was gutted that I had not managed to find it to stay in when I first arrived. Whenever friends came out to visit and outnumbered the spare beds that we had in the apartment, I always booked them in at Mosaic House. It is set up well with 4-bed dorms and private rooms. A little pricier than other hostels in Prague, but still good value for the rest of Europe the set up and location make this my recommendation for the place to stay in Prague.
Downstairs in the foyer is a Belushi’s Bar. They serve pretty good food, drinks, loads of tvs to keep you in touch with the world of sport and even a stage where there is usually a dj or somebody jamming on a guitar. The atmosphere is great with plenty of like-minded travellers from all over the world.
Staff: Helful and friendly at the reception desk, bar and waiting tables.
Room: With a recent facelift the rooms have been modernised and everybody I know that has stayed there has raved about the bathroom!
Location: Good location within walking distance of the main sights around the old town and nearby metro station Karlovo namesti for the underground and also good tram links.
Breakfast/food: Standard breakfast, bar-style food like bugers and fries but done well. The ribs are good!
Rating: Great place to stay and everything you need. If on a tight budget you can find cheaper hostels. 4 out of 5.
